The track is progressing nicely. The pits and lounge will be ready for opening day on the 27th. Be ready! Here are some shots of the track.

The electricians have been working like mad so we will have fans and lights on time. The lounge and pits are closed in which blocks the light and makes it hard to take pictures. We have a play track set up but still not the permanent one. See the helmet in the window. There are 18 windows that size.

A lot of questions have been coming in about private rentals. This is fine but remember that for the basic $30 you can ride all day without booking ahead.

We finished the fire rated walls last night. The huge pit wall is almost complete on both levels and the final steel work and windows is happening tomorrow. The fans are in but need hydro. You can see how big the fans and beams are next to electrician. The same fan is above the Ranger pickup. The stairs are up as well.

Here is a teaser of things to come. Guys that bought memberships early got a chance to come to a private test day. No wind or rain inside, just aw some traction! Keep those memberships coming in!

Good progress to report this week. Roof is on. Pit wall started. One roll-up door installed. Lots of the floor is dry enough to ride on as a few friends found out last weekend. Opening day set as November 27, 2006. Remember early memberships and passes last longer into next year. This offer ends the day we open.

Another rainy week but the building is progressing. Small amount of roof to finish so we can stop the rain from coming in. Started lining the walls with plywood for you guys that can't stay on the track. Notice the smooth sides with no beams or posts to hit. Electrical is mostly lined up.

The long weekend was great but nobody was working. They came back Tuesday and the weather sucks. Still, the south roof is on and the north side is started. Today the winds picked up so roof  construction had to stop. There is only 75' of wall to do outside. The inside plywood is starting Friday now that there is a roof on that side. I have been pumping water from and around the building so the workers can get around without hip waders.

These guys are 35' up risking their lives so you can ride inside this winter. Yes, they are tied with safety yo-yos but it is one heck of a stop when you hit the end. Scott is up there working too. We designed a steeper roof for bigger clearances and it makes roofing a bit tricky. I can finally say the lounge has a cement floor. RacerX was here on Monday to check us out.

Walls are going up. 60% of them done. Please do an anti-rain dance for us.

Rain, rain, go away...this week we got the siding started and the lounge floor welded up. We can pour it next week with cement. If the rain will hold off, we will get siding all the way around the arena. See Scott checking out the big lounge floor?

The New Holland crawler arrived right on time. What a blast playing in the dirt piles! Insulation came yesterday. Today the steel siding and roofing showed up and is being unloaded as I type this. The lounge floor is welded up and will get a layer of cement soon. It has been one month since we dug the footings. Things are progressing nicely.

We bought a crawler in Iowa. It will be here next week. That will take the hard work out of track building. The picture below is an already muddy DC70 sitting in our yard.

Things don't look too different here but the roof girts are all on and the building has been squared up and a ton of bolts tightened. The crew has been working in the mud to stay on schedule.

Can you find Kyle and Scott? Notice how small that 500 Polaris Predator looks in the big building. It was too tempting, so I went for a ride. Siding starts next week.

98% of the cement work is done. The dozer comes August 29 to level out the interior and cover the cement cross ties. On August 30 three truck loads of steel framing will come. By the 10th of September I will post pictures of the frame up. The contractor says the frame will be standing by September 2nd.

We will now accept memberships and riding pass applications. They will be good for 13 months from the day we open if purchased early. Memberships/passes purchased after opening day will be valid for 12 months.

Was I tired when I got home from Walton! Got to work this morning and saw the new walls around the arena have all been poured.

Foundation is dug, rebar is here, and cement work starts while we are all ripping around at the Walton National. All permissions have been received and we are on the road to Motocross Heaven this winter.

July has been a month of details. Construction is so close to starting and things are lined up. We are making headway. The township approved the site plan and the special use permit so once the track opens we cannot get shut down for improper land usage. The steel building is starting fabrication. We found some nice dirt for inside the arena and most of it is now here. No, those are not rocks, they are clumps of clay that will hold up to those big 450s and not trench out the jumps. If you have never been to an indoor track, you are in for a treat. One big advantage of an indoor track is the ability to keep the dirt moist but not muddy. No dust and awesome traction. Just writing about it is getting me excited!

We have been cutting and hauling wood for two weeks. We received our first building permit yesterday; one down and one to go. The final building specifications were drawn up and we are waiting for the engineer's blue prints. After lots of frustrations and set-backs, things are finally back on schedule for the fall opening.
