Coyote Raceway Enduro- Sept 24 2016

Tillsonburg Outlaws had great weather for the year end Enduro. Great turnout, Great racing. What more could you ask for? Well, how about fireworks to mark the start of the Box Stock and Open Division races.

The 2016 six race Outdoor series was sponsored by Smale Powder Coat, with this being the 6 th race.

All divisions hit the track, two at a time to attempt at being the fastest in the group. Time Trial Qualifying set the starting grid with the fastest times getting the front rows.

The Beginners had Carter Braun(fastest qualifier) and Kiana Teal join the regulars and both faired quite well. Neither were able to defeat series champ, Easton Longthorne but Carter did finish second in the Enduro. Keiran McDonald placed 3 rd in the race and the Outdoor series. Kiana managed 4 th, only her second time on this track. Zak Stewart had mechanical issues this week and spent some of the race watching but was able to finish the series in 2 nd.

Boxstock was the largest division with no less than 21 attending over the season. That’s a lot of challengers trying for top spot but Nick Sheridan (fastest qualifier) was able to withstand most of the challenges, only having to step off the top podium spot once to Tom Pellizzari. Tom put together a very strong season at Coyote and finished the series and the enduro in 2 nd. Micah Panos finished the year on a high note taking a solid 3 rd after starting at the rear of the field. In the Series though, it was former teammate Jacob Ross taking 3 rd for the season after falling just three laps short of having enough fuel to complete the enduro. This is the first year fuel quantity has come into play. From there, Austin Roes, Noah Longthorne, Kyeriah Mararcle, Jacob Ross, Aubry Smith, Rayse Meyer and Ashton Vanevery rounded 4 th to 10th.

The Opens were out in force this week, (something that appears will be the norm for 2017), put on a show that was no less intense than some of the big money races we attended this year. Setting the stage in qualifying were two top contenders, Scott Chesterman and Hannah Ferrell. John Smibert and Brent Smith were close enough to show it was going to be anyone’s race. The race got a clean start but before the fireworks had finished, Scott Chesterman spun causing a caution. From there the race went like this. Tom Pelliazzari was making his first appearance in a 500, and decided he was just too tired to muscle a 500 for the whole race and pulled off early. Hannah Ferrell was running up front for 37 laps but her right rear wheel was slowly moving in. Once it was rubbing the frame, the end was near for her efforts. What happened next was messy and her race was done. Holly Porter was up front next but at lap 47, the big monster standing in the fence grabbed her and pulled her into the tires. Unable to steer after being pulled out, her night was done. Later in the night, she was heard to be mumbling something about “floating” around the top. By now the end of the race was in site and there were a few drivers that wanted it bad. After a four wide restart attempt, starter Jacob Sheridan called it back for another try. This time Scott Hall and John Smibert decided to let Brent Smith “fire” when he wanted and stayed in line. After the restart though, John made a pass stick and took the 55 lap win. Brent Smith hung on for second but was being pressured by Scott Chesterman and Scott Hall, right to the end. Only off a bit, myself, Johnny Miller, Austin Roes (who did 75 + 51 laps), Noelle Teal and Ken Pellizzari all hung in right to the end. Series results were-- Scott Chesterman and Holly Porter going 1-2, John Smibert wrapped up 3 rd. Somewhat amazingly, I managed to beat my old kart by 4 points to finish 4th, ahead of Scott Hall who was in his rookie year for the class. So picture this. Next year, Scott C and Holly return to defend their championships. John Smibert found a load of speed this year and will return for his third Open season. I saw some big moves recently from Scott Hall that tells me he’s ready to start winning races. Brent Smith is racing like one of the kids and could win on any given night. Add to that the top FIVE Box stock drivers are entering the mix (3 are confirmed ( Nick, Tom, Austen) and likely the next two(John Jr and Jacob) will follow) . They don’t race for “also ran” and I expect by the end of 2017, these rookie drivers will already have some wins. Did I mention that Scott Kelly is back from out west and should be rejoining us as well as Josh Shantz who has located his Open for 2017? There are still a couple potential drivers hiding in the bushes not mentioned here but with a few visiting Little “O” drivers, we could see some Open kart nights with 20 entries. Could Split heats be coming to this class too? Stay tuned.

Awards banquet is October 22, at Mill Tales Inn. Pay at the door but call us, 519-842-5977 for details and to reserve your place. We have a truck load of trophies to send home with the drivers. If you ran most of a series, there is one for you.

Sept 20 Indoor Race

It was all year coming but we have the results of the 12th Indoor race of 2016.

The Lubricare Beginners saw new racer Macenzy Kew try things out and although doing pretty well, it brought to light just how much our beginner class has developed since May of this year. Keiran McDonald and Zak Stewart finished the night tied for 1st place with Easton Longthorne only a few points behind in 2nd. That left Macenzy in 3rd.

The Smale Powder Coat Box Stocks continue to have drivers develop skills and frankly, kind of amaze me how well they race. John Jackson Jr and Nick Sheridan won their respective heats. Micah Panos won the B side main with Sheridan taking the A side. That set the stage for the 13 kart field lining up for the final Indoor main of 2016. Noah Longthorne and Aubry Smith were sitting on the front row for the 35 lap race. Noah made good use of the opportunity and lead for 22 laps and looked like he just may take it. Nick, Tom Pellizzari and John Jackson Jr were making their way to the front but it was tough going. Before they got there, young Aubry Smith had passed 9 yr old Noah and was now leading the pack. Sheridan and Jackson locked wheels and caused a caution, moving them to the rear late in the race. That left Pellizzari sitting number two behind Smith but despite trying every pass in the book, was not getting past Smith who refused to get rattled and give up her line. One last attempt on the final corner looked like it may take them both out but good driving skills kept them both in line with 8 year old Aubry Smith taking her first Box Stock feature win. I think the 11,12,13 and 14 year olds just got notice there is a new player in town. For the night it was Nick Sheridan, Tom Pellizzari with Aubry Smith and John Jackson Jr tied for third.

Last week the Chesterman Opens were dealing with a big bump in turn one. This week the track was smooth as silk. With good traction from top to bottom , the track was up to the task of taking on 80 hp Outlaws. John Smibert looked to have his wing with true road rash straightened out and working to his liking and finished 2nd. John was a Scott sandwich finishing behind Scott Chesterman and in front of Scott Hall. And look who picked up the pace. Ken Pellizzari finished 4th in front of Holly Porter. The field was inverted for the main and this had to be one of our best showings to date. Not only were there very few cautions, the whole group was running sub 9 second laps and stayed on the lead lap to the checkers. Austin Roes, who just moved up to the Opens and Johnny Miller who has avoided the tight indoor bull ring for a couple years both showed very well and got all 30 laps in which is pretty impressive. The feature results were Chesterman, Porter and Smibert in that order. Over all though Smibert was 2nd in front of Porter who was only one point from being clipped by Scott Hall.

That moves us to the final 2016 race which is Saturday night, Sept. 24 at Coyote Raceway. Gates open at 5pm, Practice starts at 6:30 Pm

Qualifying will be followed by 75 lap endurance races for the kids and a 55 lap for the Opens.

If any teams have a spare Orange transponder, please charge it up and bring it so the visiting Ohsweken teams can be scored electronically as well.

The night will conclude with a Corn Boil. (corn on the cob)

Combined year end banquet, Oct 22 2016 at Mill Tales Inn, Tillsonburg.

Sept 13 Race recap

Tillsonburg Lubricare Beginners were joined this week by Morgan Schutz. That made a nice group of five. Kyeriah Mararcle being one of the oldest beginners decided it was time to see if she was ready for the Box Stock division which made her ineligible for points this week with the bigger restrictor. I think she will be just fine in the Box Stocks. That event moved Easton Longthorne into 1 st followed by Zak Stewart and Keiran McDonald.

What action there was in the Smale Powder Coat Box Stock division this week. With 8 racers on the A side and a combined 10 on the B side. #44 Jayden Dunn is looking very comfortable on the B side and took the win in the combined heat. # 45 Nick Sheridan was smooth as usual and won the A side. Then the track changed with a big hole in turn one. There were three choices for the drivers. Stay inside of the hole, bounce through the hole or go high around the hole. All three tactics were used in the Feature race. #84, Jacob Ross led most of the feature but was being hunted down by Jackson, Pellizzari and Sheridan. With the rough track, not all the drivers have learned to avoid a hole yet and so there were more cautions than normal. Still, Ross was able to stay in front but somewhere along the way, bobbled which let John Jackson Jr get by and take the win. I view this as a big achievement for Jackson who has been fast for some time but was not as quick getting through traffic as Sheridan or Pellizzari. Could this be Johns break out week? Neither Pellizzari nor Sheridan were able to follow suit and took 3 rd and 4th behind Ross. So how did that effect the nights results? Jackson and Sheridan tied for 1 st. Ross and Pellizzari tied for 2 nd and Ashton Vanevery and Noah Longthorne tied for third. These last two drivers only just moved up from Beginner into this very tough Box Stock class this year and have already moved their way up into the top third of the field. Pretty darn good if you ask me.

Survival was the word in the Chesterman Power Products Opens this week. The Sprint had good conditions and everyone was very fast. At the checkers, it was Syd Hess first across the line followed closely by John Smibert and Holly Porter. The only drivers not on the lead lap had DNF’s which is kind of amazing. With the field inverted for the Feature, they went at it again, but this time with a much rougher track at the pit end. The race started with way too many cautions but as we worked our way through them, the field was slowly dwindling. Scott Hall left missing a wheel, Syd Hess with some broken pedals, Andrew Marshall with repeated traction problems, John Miller with a disconnected carburetor. The rest made it to the end with Scott Chesterman, Holly Porter, John Smibert and Ken Pellizzari finishing in that order. Oddly enough, that was also the results for the night.

Only two races to go

Sept 20th Indoors and 24th Outdoors

Aug 16 Recap

The Lubricare Tillsonburg Beginners put on a good show this week and continue to learn, especially when thrown in with part of the Box Stock division. The result were very close this week with Keiran McDonald taking first followed by Kyeriah Mararcle and Zak Stewart.

The Smale Powder Coat Box Stock division lined up 13 karts for the final. It made for some very exciting racing over the night. This week we were more strick with starts, restarts and aggressive driving and a few drivers found thenselves restarting back in the pack a time or two. Some view this as a penalty for doing something they maybe shouldn’t have. Others see it as an opportunity and challenge to pass a bunch more karts. Either way, there is some learning in motion.

Also I find it interesting that the top three in the combined group were also the top three in their individual groups last year and have continued their winning ways to date and it has been the middle horsepower drivers taking the top spots. In order from 1 st to 13th, the engines hp were. 10,10,10,11,8,8,8,10,8,11,11,11. It appears to me that more horsepower with less experience is still finishing behind the youngest drivers. Another pattern I saw starting to emerge last night was drivers are starting to repect each others space with less blocking and angling off to the wall. That means better racing and cleaner passes. After the points are tallied up, John Jackson Jr and Jacob Ross were tied for third. Tom Pellizzari was second and 2016 Speedster Nick Sheridan was 1 st. Nick is having a great year and the more confident he becomes the better he goes through traffic. He is certainly showcasing what can be learned by racing in Tillsonburg.

Speaking of learning, we are starting to work our way through the older kids of this group as most of them have an Open kart in their future. We have raced the heck out of these kids and they have the skills to jump in earlier than first believed. It will be interesting to see what they can do on a National level where the 500’s are the common platform.

Speaking of 500’s, Scott Hall and Syd Hess are showing they were ready for the Open class. I swear both these guys seem 5 years older than last year. It seems they may be driving over their heads but since they rarely cause a caution, I think they know what they are doing. I on the other hand, thought the recently installed 500 was assembled as a loose ready to go motor but it turns out when we did it last year, it got a fresh rebuild and I expected too much too soon from it. It is fixed and I will have it broke in before next week. Austin Roes got some quick instructions on Saturday on dealing with a hand clutch and manual gear box. Race night we stuck him in a 500 and said have fun. Instantly a second a lap came off his Boxstock times and I can tell he will be up to speed in a short time. He never got lapped and once he figures out how to feel for traction, he will be away and running. Interestingly, his fast time was only a 10 th of a second behind Holly Porter. Hmmmm. No wonder he spun a few times.

Syd Hess finished the night in third after leading much of the final. Holly Porter and Scott Hall tied for second with Scott Chesterman proved the worth of a used 500cc kart we have for sale by finishing first.

Two races and two weeks before our caravan down to North Carolina on Labour Day

Aug 9 recap

Let’s get right to it with the Lubricare Tillsonburg Beginners. At this point in the season these kids have gotten comfortable with each other and they can generally run the whole night without much issue. Time to up the ante. Time to mix them in with some of the Box Stocks to see how they fair. Flagger Jacob Sheridan wasn’t taking any nonsense and was looking for a nice even start to the race in heat one. That took a few tries but eventually the group was able to stay side by side to get things rolling. Race two the group ran at the same time as the “B” half of the Box Stocks. They did good but caused more cautions then they normally do with spin outs. I thought it odd at the time because I didn’t think we would see that. After looking at the race times though, I knew exactly what had happened. The beginners were following faster karts and figured if they can do it, so can I. Zak Stewart knocked a second a lap off his times. That’s significant. There was a learning curve however. Keiran McDonald and Kyeriah Mararcle both went 2/10 ths faster. No prodding or coaching. Just send them out with some faster drivers and they go faster. Once the teams figure out how to tighten up the karts for the faster speeds, they will be ripping.

The Smale Powder Coat Box Stocks had some great action this week. John Jackson Jr and Nick Sheridan won their heats to set the stage for some great racing. What the group wasn’t ready for though was a track with more traction than normal. Team Sheridan, by luck or good setup, nailed the night and was running 2/10 ths of a second faster than the others. By the feature, the top 5 had gotten down to the those times but it was too little too late. Sheridan had the feature tied up. Jacob Ross looked to be the next closest and took second in both heats but when he got to the feature and his team mate, similar driving styles clashed and they took each other out and had to restart at the back. They recovered but not fully. John Jackson Jr doesn’t need much of a break and he made sure to take advantage with a 2 nd ahead of Tom Pellizzari in the feature. For the night, it was Sheridan in first, Jackson and Ross tied for 2 nd and Pellizzari in 3 rd ahead of Austin Roes.

The Chesterman Opens continue the reliability streak with only one DNF out of all the drivers. That is a sign of how deep the skill level is getting in this group. John Smibert came out of the gate swinging with fastest lap times in the Sprint but got tangled up with Brent Smith causing both some excitement and a delay while we got things going. While the pair blocked the upper part of turn 4, Andrew Marshall who was battling with myself, did not notice the pair stopped and smoked them good. Stuff happens and I am sure Andrew will be watching further down the track in the future so there is a chance of avoiding the wreck rather than joining it. This time it was Marshall but pretty well everyone over the years has had to adjust and learn how to “read a situation” in time. Once going again, it was Holly Porter, Scott Hall and Syd Hess taking the top three in that order. Although rattled, it was not enough to keep Smibert out of his Kart for the feature and he came out swinging with fast times again. He must have learned if you want to win, you can’t park on the track and hope the others miss you because he got out front and stayed there. He was going so fast that there was a vacuum behind him which pulled Brent Smith in for a solid 2 nd in front of Holly Porter. Overall for the night was the same result in the same order. Smibert may just be peaking at the right time as the North Carolina trip is only 3 weeks away. John will be one of the Rookie’s in our NC group. I am sure he will have fun.

Aug 2 2016 Update

Each race at Coyote gets easier, for both the racers and officials. The August 2nd 2016 race was no exception. Corners 1 & 2 got reshaped banking and made for multiple lines at both ends this week. And as a bonus, Mother Nature put on the first few thousand litres of water for us.
On the track, the Tillsonburg Lubricare Beginners continue to look not so much like Beginners and Kieran McDonald looks like she has Easton Longthorne coverd with two wins to his one but Eastons win and two seconds out pointed her and that means he got the overall. Kyeriah Mararcle finished a solid third over Zak Stewert. It wont be long and we will be introducing these drivers into the mix with part of the Box Stock kids. Pay attention at the next drivers meeting.
The biggest class this year has to be the Smale Powder Coat Box Stocks. It is a solid mix of veterans vs. rookies, heavy vs light weights, maxed out engines vs limited engines. While this may not seem like a group that could have extremely close racing, in fact it does. It has proven to be a solid platform where every driver has an opportunity to improve to a greater degree than splitting them up into smaller groups with more similar characteristics. Can everyone win when there is 15 in the class? Not likely, but the same can be said when there are only 5.
The bigger question , "Is it better for an individual racer to learn and improve at the maximum rate possible or is it more important for them to collect a greater number of wins?"
This week,, Nick Sheridan was able to win two out of three races but it was Tom Pellizzari who won the feature and took the overall win, pushing Nick to second. Jacob Ross had a solid night with a win and two thirds giving him third for the night. We didn't have any ties this week so 4th,5th, and 6th went to John Jackson Jr, Amber Meyer and Zachery Stefanski. All of these kids are building the foundation that is going to let them step into the Open division without too much trouble.
Speaking of Opens, WOW, whats a great night. Blazing fast, 100% finish rate and only one minor caution in the feature. The depth of talent is outstanding. Holly Porter took the fast Qualify time, John Smibert spanked everyone in the Sprint and Scott Chesterman took the Feature. Syd Hess continues to run with the leaders and was third fastest in qualifying. Scott Hall keeps passing me on the last lap, (ugh) and finished 5th behind Hess. Josh Shantz, Ohsweken Crate Sprint driver took a last place unproven kart and finished in front of me in each race for 6th. (What's up with all the fast kids?) That leaves Dave, Brent, Andrew and Ken who were not out of the action but couldn't push into the top 6.
That leaves 7 races to complete the Ontario Season. The Opens head to North Carolina for a double header race on Labour Day weekend in addition to these races. On top of this, we are looking to run a test and tune day for kids(box stock drivers) who would like to start the learning process of controlling the Open Karts. This will be a low stress day to let them get into the seat of something with much more power. Besides the higher power, gear boxes, clutches and bump starting will be addressed.

Lined up for action, Box Stock division

2016 Mini Outlaw Racing

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Lubricare Tillsonburg Beginners are well into their steep learning curve and the results are starting to change from what we saw earlier in the season. Keiran McDonald put together a pair of wins for first overall in the 911 kart. He was followed by Kyeriah Mararcle with one win in the 68 and Easton Longthorne in the 07x in third overall.

With hard charger Nick Sheridan missing from the Smale Powdercoat Box Stocks, a couple of drivers were glad to see him gone and were hoping to make the win a little easier. That rarely works out and so it was for #31 John Jackson Jr who was poised to finish top 3, but clipping a stopped kart in the feature bent his right front rim enough that the wheel would no longer turn and ultimately lowed his weeks results out of the top 3. Where there is bad luck, someone else is grabbing some good luck and that would have to be # 5 Tom Pellizzari who managed to waltz his way to 3 wins for first overall and put 10 points between himself and 2^nd place finisher, #84 Jacob Ross who decided it was time to stop bending wings. Jacob set fast lap in two of the three races. #3 Austin Roes, kept the rubber side down this week and grabbed 3^rd for the night. Notable in 4^th was #88 Noah Longthorne who won a heat and finished the night strong. This group is quite possibly experiencing the most
fun and competitive racing that they will ever participate in. If you have not stopped by to watch them race, you are missing out.

The night concludes with the Chesterman Power Product Opens. It has been a while coming but we have a group this year that is dealing with the 80 hp Outlaw karts better than years past. Not only are we seeing almost caution free racing, we are getting a variety of different faces moving up the ladder. This week #02 John Smibert was very fast but almost blew it by going for an infield excursion while leading the first race. He hung on for third in that race but returned to win the Main and locked in First overall for the week. John also set fast lap in both races. Open Rookie # 55 Scott Hall brought his A game as well and seems to have his electrical issues sorted out, taking 2^nd in the Main and for the night. It was only the house kart of #1 Holly Porter who cracked the top three but only by a point over #7x Syd Hess who won the first race. Most of this group is heading down to North Carolina to race on Labour Day weekend. Stop in and see them as they hone their skills
before the big test.

Tuesday night at the races. July 5 2016

Coyote Raceway was the site of some fantastic racing this week.
Scott C has gotten used to putting on a large volume of water and added some extra through the night. As the sun went down, the track came into perfect and you could not have asked for any better or smoother conditions. Good lines could be used anywhere on the track.
To the racing......
The Tillsonburg Lubricare Beginners get up lots of extra speed at Coyote with wider lanes but somehow they still manage to tangle up and bring out the caution. That would seem like not too big a deal but from the vantage point of our scorer, he could only see a 7 on the tip of the wing and assumed it was number 27, Zak Stewart in the wreck but it was actually #07x, Easton Longthorne. That messed up the restart somewhat but in the end, the fastest drivers made their way to the front before race end. One of the advantages of using a 3 race per night scoring system is it averages out little boo boo’s like that.
Smale Powder Coating sponsors the outdoor events, and is also the title Sponsor for the Box Stock Division which had to be the premier race this week. Fourteen racers on the grid means a lot of action under green. The first heats sort the racers out by speed and accumulate points towards the night’s total. When they line up for the feature race, you know there is going to be some action with the fastest drivers buried in the middle of the pack. Action there was.
On another note(pun intended) the sound of 14 single cylinder Subaru engines coming to full power on the start lap, sounds like a finely tuned multi cylinder race engine. Music to the ears.

At times there are things I see on a race track and think “this is not going to be pretty” like running the first couple laps 3 and 4 wide. I have to hand it to the drivers though because despite courting disaster, the main went caution free. Not only did they run multiple lines to get where they wanted to go, they did it without taking themselves or anyone else out of the action in the process. There were some pinch points where the wall may have got involved but this group of kids has figured out when to lift rather than end their race. When the night was over, there were a lot of tired smiling kids running around the pits. Great racing group.
1. Nick Sheridan
2. Jacob Ross
3. Tom Pellizzari
4. Austin Roes.
5. Amber Meyer
6. Noah Longthorne
7. Paige Smith
8. John Jackson Jr
9. Rayse Meyer
10. Zach Stefanski

The Open Division can pull some amazing speeds at Coyote. This week Holly Porters Coyote Raceway 6 event win streak came to an end. Well, sort of. Her and Scott Chesterman tied in points for the night with Porter winning the qualifying and sprint and Chesterman winning the Feature. John Smibert, who was in postion to win the Feature, lost a chain as the race drew to a close but that still gave him 3rd for the night. Syd Hess was unable to attend this week but his fill in driver, Josh Shantz was able to garner him 4th place points. Josh is a regular in the Crate Sprints at Ohsweken.
That about wraps up the first 8 races of this season. One more race to complete to the half way point of the year.

The July 5 2016 race is at Coyote Raceway as per schedule..

Last weeks (June 28 2016) race was fun to watch. Myles Monture showed he is ready to move into the Box Stock division. The rest of the Tillsonburg Lubricare Beginners are proving to be very close. Easton Longthorne, Kyeriah Maracle, Keirin McDonald and Zak Stewart have been putting on a good show.
The Smale Powder Coat Box Stocks were down a few entries but still had 10 pursuing top spot which Nick Sheridan seems to have a handle on. Tom Pellizzari, John Jackson Jr and Jacob Ross have all taken heat wins and continue to push Sheridan's speed. If you think the field ends there, you would be wrong as Noah Longthorne , Paige and Aubry Smith, and Micah Panos all have a mid pack battle going on that almost makes you forget who is in the lead.
After winning the Open Division two weeks ago, Syd Hess got on the podium again in third but was not able to beat the house karts of Holly Porter and Dave Chesterman this week.
Lets get those karts ready for the next race. See you soon

May 16 2016 Update.

I don't know where the time is going this year but it seems we are always a few steps behind. The first race went very well and we are scrambling to have Coyote Raceway ready for the May 17 race. It was close but I think what we need to race is ready. The polish can come as the year goes and I am looking forward to Coyote only needing water to get ready for a race. The total rebuilding of the shape puts a lot of extra work on us. We should see a high line develop with the latest version. We even had the Indoor track develop a high line last week. Well that's all for now. See you at the track on Tuesday. Gates open at 5:30, Practice at 6:30

Additional class at Coyote Raceway nights.

We have had requests for a more casual class for drivers who would like to try racing, either with a borrowed kart, rented kart or one they found in a barn somewhere. We will be offering the class at Coyote Raceway.

Rules will be very simple to accommodate as many as we can.
Roll cage mandatory, engine make and size optional but lets limit it to typical kart engines. (No motorcycle engines)

The class can be entered by anyone. Parents, racers, neighbours, relatives, etc.
No points, championship or win recognition for this class and entry fee will be $25.
Lets give this class a good start and dig out those old karts and give someone a chance to try racing.

Class list at Coyote
*Beginner
* Box Stock(Jr & Sr)
* Run what you Brung
* Open

That's all for now.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ParentalWaiver Insurance wiavers- Lets get this out of the way at the first practice. BOTH Mom and Dad need to sign the parental Waiver form for minors to be able to drive on the track. This is an annual requirement. Print it off and sign it if one parent is not attending the first practice.

Next requirement. To race, drivers must be either a Tillsonburg or Ohsweken members. Only Tillsonburg members are eligible for Tillsonburg Championships at the Indoor Track. Coyote Raceway is different and members of either club are eligible to win a Coyote Raceway Champioship.

The annual Tillsonburg Membership is $75 per driver. All racers who paid 2015 Tillsonburg membership were awarded a 2016 membership at no further cost at the awards banquet.

Chesterman Power Products is sponsoring Tillsonburg members the first practice/test and tune day, Saturday May 7 2016 (9 to 4) by paying their day use fee. All others are $35.

Practice day is a great way to shake down karts and drivers to be ready for the green flag to drop. It is casual and new drivers will be permited solo time. Experienced racers may drive with "friends" as they wish.

From there-- It's race time.

May 7 is Opening race day for the Indoor track.

May 17 is Coyote Raceway Kickoff

Although it is not part of our series, May 24 is a two day race for the Opens and a couple Box Stocks in Millbridge NC. which will preclude any racing in Tillsonburg. From there we settle into weekly racing Indoor or Outdoor in Tillsonburg. Use the schedule link above.

Beginner division is again sponsored by Tillsonburg Lubricare Center.

Box stock division is sponsored by Smale Powder Coat

Open division is sponsored by Chesterman Power Products

Coyote raceway is sponsored by Smale Powder Coat

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have not figured out the new Box Stock division yet, just set your kart up for the old Jr or Sr rules depending on drivers weight and age, and they will all run together. If the class is too large, (which I am thinking it may be) we will run split heats with a combined main at the end of the night. There will be some interesting sibling match ups in Box Stock. Will Amber be able to beat Rayce? How about Noah and Ethen? Paige vs. Aubry.

The Tillsonburg club will keep track of points for both 12 race Indoor series and a 6 race Outdoor Series.

The former Junior and Senior divisions will be combined into Box Stock. This class will utilize the engine configurations from the former Junior and Senior. It will still be possible to run both Tillsonburg and Ohsweken without changing motor set ups.
